For Founder and CEO Paige Johnson, it all started with chemistry, a home oven, and 4 grams in a flask. Paige founded Ten-Nine Technologies in 2014 with a small amount of money and some even smaller back-warehouse space from her first angel investor. Today the company is producing her invention, the patented cathode nano-additive TENIX^®, at tonnage scale. Ten-Nine engages with leading manufacturers across the global energy storage landscape while remaining planted in her hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Paige believes that new chemical materials made from abundant, non-toxic resources in practical and sustainable ways is what will make batteries—and people’s lives—better.
